Changelog

What's new in Visitor.Place

A running record of what we've shipped.

New

Works with greet.place

  • Visitor.Place now integrates with greet.place — a building access platform purpose-built for HID-enabled properties.
  • When you send a guest invite, greet.place automatically provisions a building access credential. Your guest gets a QR code on their pass that opens the door on arrival — no front desk stop, no waiting.
  • If your building is already running greet.place, connect your location in Settings → Locations and it works immediately.

SMS reminders for hosts

  • Add your mobile number in Settings to receive an SMS reminder before each appointment.
  • Reminders are sent automatically — no manual setup per visit required.
  • Phone number is stored on your account and can be updated or removed at any time.

Real building-access QR codes on guest passes

  • When your location is connected to a building access control system, the guest pass now shows a real credential QR code instead of a placeholder.
  • QR codes are Wiegand-encoded to work with the building's reader hardware directly.
  • Fixed an edge case where the schedule page showed the wrong day for hosts working past midnight UTC.

Building access control integration

  • Connect your location to a building access control system from Settings → Locations.
  • When you send a guest invite, visitor credentials are pushed to the building system automatically.
  • The building system notifies Visitor.Place when your guest checks in, updating the pass status in real time.
  • If you update your location address, the building connection is automatically disconnected to prevent credential mismatches.

Calendar app support and 404 page

  • Guest pass ICS calendar links now open directly in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, and Outlook without requiring sign-in.
  • Added a friendly 404 page so dead links don't leave visitors stranded.
